Lifan Motors rolled out their ridiculous MINI Cooper clone today in Shanghai. Different color roof? Check. Roundish Mini-like headlamps? Check. Cute styling? Check. Crazy, hand-painted Fenghuang on the side? Check.
The Lifan 320 was officially launched for public consumption at a price point of 48,800 yuan ($7,142 USD), beating the MINI in almost every way except for styling, quality, driving dynamics, fun-factor and heritage. But what's all that stuff mean anyway? The five-door deathtrap 320 rides on a 2,340mm wheelbase and is powered by a Lifan-developed 1.3-liter engine This little engine can muster up 88 horsepower, enough to take the almost-MINI and up to 96 MPH if you so dare.
