Jimmie Johnson Wins The Daytona 500

Jimmie Johnson just won the opening round of the 2013 Sprint Cup season, his 61st career win in this series. Dale Earnhardt Jr. secured the second place finish. 

But arguably the biggest star of the day was Danica Patrick, who made history (again) when she became the first female driver to lead a lap under a green flag at Daytona. She finished in eighth place, the best-ever finish for a woman in the race's history. 

All in all, it was a solidly uneventful race otherwise, without the chaos that ended yesterday's Nationwide Cup race. Also, nothing exploded like last year
