Imagine that Top Gear never happened, but James May still became a semi-successful motoring journalist. This video from The Sunday Times is exactly what you’d get.
Here you have James May driving a Ferrari 488 GTB in a video with low production values, no color correction, and James May being his normal James May self. Instead of focusing on major details of the car’s body, he spends a good portion of the video examining the door handle. He tells himself to “not be a pussy” on the track. The color is so washed out that parts look like it was taped on overexposed film.
It’s actually rather refreshing to see James just doing a story and being James. It’s like his home cooking show, but with a car.
