It's Sebastian Vettel's Race To Lose This Weekend

Welcome to the Jalopnik Weekend Motorsports Roundup, where we let you know what’s going on in the world of racing, where you can see it, and where you can talk about it all in one convenient place. Where else would you want to spend your weekend?

It’s a busy weekend for racing, but the series with the most coverage leading up this week was definitely Formula E, with Mercedes announcing it will join in 2019 and then Porsche following suit.

If you still like cars that make noise, Formula One is in Hungary this weekend, where Sebastian Vettel leads Lewis Hamilton by just one point in the driver standings going into the race. He had a very good second practice for this weekend, so that should be moderately interesting if Mercedes doesn’t come in, own it and ruin the fun too early.

You’ll also be able to get one of the last few races with ugly IndyCars before the new hot stuff moves in next season, and then there’s plenty of NASCAR for your afternoons to look forward to. Did I miss anything you feel like I should’ve mentioned? Drop it in the comments below and I’ll make sure to update. Happy racing.
