Europe's funkiest truck family was born in 1990, but due to new emission standards, Renault is getting ready to turn the page on it. It's a sad moment for all the truck enthusiasts out there.
The Renault AE was revolutionary in 1990 because it had a flat floor and tall cabin, making it the most comfortable truck on the market. A year later, the Magnum was voted Truck of the Year. The series had two major facelifts in 1997 and in 2005, when it also got a new chassis. Two years ago, Renault launched a limited edition model commemorating the original AE, while the last two Magnums rolled off the Bourg-en-Bresse production lines at the end of last month. One of them was delivered to hauliers Robert Chabbert at Bourg-en-Bresse, and the other will be presented to the Berliet Foundation Conservatory.
The replacement is Renault's new Euro 6 compliant truck range called the "T".
Does that stand for Transformers?
