Is This The Most 1990s Race Car Ever?

I happened to stumble across this picture and holy shit this is so ‘90s I just bombed Kuwait.

You’re looking at the second-placed finisher of the TI Circuit Aida Group A 300km, a round of the 1992 All Japan Touring Car Championship. The car is the #22 Object-T Nissan Skyline GT-R. The drivers were Kazuo Shimizu of Japan and none other than Tom Kristensen of Denmark, the most recent driver to get the title ‘Mr. Le Mans.’ He’s the winningest driver in the 24LM’s history. Full results of the race are here, if you’re curious.

His greatest achievement though was piloting this wonderfully-painted R32. Clearly.
