Is Ferrari Building an Entry-Level Coupe?

The UK's Autocar reports Ferrari is considering a lower-priced coupe and spider that could compete with Aston Martin's V8 Vantage. Allegedly referred to as "Project California," the cars would sell in the $150,000 range (at between 5,000 and 8,000 produced per year), sport a front-mounted 4.2-liter V8 and reportedly replace the Maserati coupe and spider models discontinued earlier in 2005. If rumors pan out, and if our internal mass-media barometer is on the money, the California spider will be on track to appear in a remake of "Ferris Bueller's Day Off" in around 2010.
