"Not All New, But Still All There"
In the last scene of Inception, a child's top wobbles ominously, implying an ambiguous ending. But with the 2011 Toyota Camry SE Extra Value Package 2, there's no ambiguity since Toyota still builds it. That's the trouble with ambiguity: sometimes it doesn't work as a metaphor.
That, in a nutshell, is the 2011 Toyota Camry SE Extra Value Package 2. A car as ubiquitous as a miasma of cats, and just as cranky when asked to pick out curtains, which thankfully for buyers, it never is. The 2011 Toyota Camry SE Extra Value Package 2 has always been Toyota's answer to a question someone asked. That someone has since forgotten the question and was killed, but during a eulogy for that person, someone coincidentally asked the same question. That's precisely the question Toyota answered with the 2011 Toyota Camry SE Extra Value Package 2. And it's still done it.
Outside, the 2011 Toyota Camry SE Extra Value Package 2 is a lathering display of painterly metalwork, with a face like Katy Perry lying on a parquet floor, and a trunk that recalls the lower torso profile of plus-sized tattooed love god Cee Lo Green. The trunk lid inflates out of the car's polar moment, providing a rear deck so high that Greg Louganis could land a front one-and-a-half somersault with a half twist from it.
Interiorly, the 2011 Toyota Camry SE Extra Value Package 2 provides a coterie of entertaining fun, with radios and digitals galore, including a nice JBL system that makes us think of far-off places with lots of bass. The climate control is a bit too, well, climatey, but otherwise it's got two zones that can't help but adjust the temperature of the cockpit. Selecting the window switch allows a cornucopia of air to get in, changing the temperature either hotter or colder depending on the temperature of the outside air. Things too foggy? Turn on the defogger, which is also included. It's like a meteorologist's dream in here.
The seats still are adjustable as are the leather. You can reach all the buttons from the chair, which takes much of the issue of reaching things out of the equation. Those sitting behind the driver are able to find room to put their appendages, which can often be a problem in some cars of dubious interior volume. You can put so much stuff in the trunk, it almost makes you want to load it up with things.
The 2011 Toyota Camry SE Extra Value Package 2's 2.5-liter engine falls readily to hand, with revs increasing as the driver presses the accelerator pedal, which is underneath the dashboard. The engine is smooth all the way to redline, where it starts getting loud and angry. Tip-in is notoriously uninspiring, though perfectly adequate for most driving cycles. The V6 is more powerful, and has torque for days, if a day lasted about 6,000 rpms. The automatic transmission still hasn't met a gear it didn't want to escape from, though sometimes clutches them to its meaty breast like an out-of-work aunt.
All told, the Camry is truly one of the cars most sold for the simple reason of its value for money, its space, and because it's a known entity, like those graham crackers that grandma keeps in the back of the closet. The ones with the honey. It's a little bland on the inside, but there are enough ants crawling around the outside to give it a surprising crunch.
