IMAX Nascar Movie: Still Going

Don't mind the picture — It's not a new "Mystery Science Theater 3000" starring Donald Rumsfeld and Paul Wolfowitz. It's a scene from "NASCAR 3D: The IMAX Experience," a 45-minute documentary and motorsports snuff film (the cars, not the people) that's grossed $19.8 million since it opened last spring. The film is narrated by Kiefer Sutherland, whose earnestness has earned him Jalopnik's "What's His Friggin' Problem" award two years running, as evident in a single line from the movie, "The sermon is speed, and heaven is a checkered flag." Whoa, chills. We haven't seen the film, but can imagine that seeing nearly an hour of spectacular, 30-foot-high car crashes could just trigger a latent Oxy Contin habit.
