On a restart with 10 laps to go in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series season finale, championship contenders Carl Edwards and Joey Logano got feisty and made contact. Edwards wound up in a wall, Logano sustained some damage and poor Martin Truex Jr. wound up with a fireball of a race car.
After the wreck, Edwards climbed up onto Logano’s No. 22 pit box. You’d think a driver who just lost a championship title—after being ahead of the other three contenders for most of the race, at that—would be mad. But not this guy. He went up, shook their hands and said it was all his fault.
Officially, Brad Keselowski, Kasey Kahne, Regan Smith, Edwards, Logano, Chase Elliott, Ryan Newman, Truex and Ty Dillon were all involved. Logano, Jimmie Johnson and defending champion Kyle Busch remain on track. The highest finisher of the three will win the series title.
