Yes, cars are inanimate objects. They are not carbon-based life forms like we are. But that doesn’t change the fact that sometimes we perceive them as being alive. It doesn’t stop us from forming bonds with and through them.

Much like how people with differences in values can find common ground in similar hobbies, cars can offer us an opportunity to create or restore relationships. Maybe you never got along with your neighbor, but then you two discovered that you had a lot more in common after you bought that new car. Maybe you were having a fight with your significant other but then a stupid Miata came along and saved it all.

It can be with anybody. Friend, sibling, parent, personal chef or hair dresser. How has a car saved your relationship?
