When it was released in the mid-1960s, the Ford Mustang became an instant canvas for tuners to extensively modify. Any of you ever hear of Carroll Shelby?
This year, Ford is showing off four heavily modified 'Stangs at the SEMA show in Las Vegas, and each is built by a different tuner with a different theme in mind.
The first car is from Mothers (the car polish people), who teamed up with Autosport Dynamics and RTR to make a 650 horsepower V8 with a manual transmission. With a bodykit and track ready suspension, it actually looks a lot like a Boss 302 witha bit more power. Not a bad thing at all.
Stitchcraft took a V6 convertible with a manual transmission and hooked it up with nitrous (for the kids and their Fast and Furiousness), Flowmaster exhaust, a Hotchkis suspension, big Wilwood brakes, a custom body kit, and a custom interior.
DSO Eyeware, which apparently modifies cars now, took a V8 with an automatic gearbox, supercharged it to 750 horsepower and added Eibach suspension and Brembo brakes. It also has a body kit and a thumping stereo for your tunskis.
Finally, Ringbrothers built was is supposed to be the ultimate street machine. It's a GT with a six-speed manual that has been modified with a carbon fiber bodykit, custom paint, big wheels and tires, supercharger, and an upgraded suspension. It looks promising.
It seems that none of them added an independent suspension. Guess we'll have to wait for the 2015 Mustang for that little addition. We'll see what they look like in the flesh when the SEMA show opens.
