This, dear reader, is a 2018 Opel Insignia Sports Tourer. If you live in America there’s a good chance you don’t care what a new Opel wagon looks like because you assume you can’t buy one anyway. But you might be able to, soon! Because word on the street is this thing is the next Buick Regal wagon.
And believe me, I’m happy with that, because it looks great.
Spy photographers captured the next-gen Opel Insignia wagon in, of all places, Los Angeles this weekend. The current one is sold in the U.S. as the Buick Regal too, and word on the street is there’s a wagon variant headed our way this time.
Our spy says this is the sportier OPC Line model, seen here with big wheels and Brembo brakes; it could be the Regal GS wagon, or “Regal Tour X,” when and if it comes stateside.
I think above all else, it’s a strong looker, not terribly dissimilar to the new Volvo V90. This is not a bad thing.
Bring it here, Buick/Opel/General Motors/whoever! This storied brand could use a fresh injection of excitement.
