Ever since the legendary 1968 Gold Leaf-branded Lotus, Formula 1 cars have been disguised and cluttered and hidden under the weight of sponsorship logos. Well, not all of them.
Sometimes an F1 team will run a car without sponsorship for a special occasion, like testing.
And that’s exactly what we got to see over the weekend. Toro Rosso, Red Bull’s junior effort and The-Team-Formerly-Known-As-Minardi ran without any branding whatsoever.
I don’t know why Toro Rosso ran livery-less, but I like the blurple paint and I love how clear a view we get of the shape of a current F1 car. These are such wonderfully weird and globular creations.
