TALLADEGA-CRASH

After winning the Daytona 500 it seemed like Dale, Jr. had his best chance at winning a championship since people cared about that NEXTEL chirp. Alas, David Gilliland whipped out the Dale-call a little early at Talladega, nudged Greg Biffle, who then hit Dale, Jr. and ended his chase.

Also, this whole system is bonkers as a win for Brad Keselowski put him in the semi-final round. It was a massacre for the Hendrick Motorsports team as Jimmie Johnson and Kasey Kahne were also knocked out. Kyle Busch was caught up in an accident in the middle of the race that left him on the outs. [NASCAR on ESPN via Timothy Burke]
