When you see a rundown Cadillac ambulance in your neighborhood, who you gonna call? Ghostbusters... fans.
Anyone who has seen or heard of Ghostbusters knows that their vehicle of choice was a Cadillac ambulance. In Ghostbusters, it was the Ecto 1, and in Ghostbusters II, it was the Ecto 1a. In 2007, it was scheduled to begin a restoration.
But it looks like that instead of being restored, Ecto 1a is just sitting in a back lot in a state of disrepair. So what Ghostbusters fans want, and this will be tough to do, is convince Sony to sell them Ecto 1a (and all of its parts) at the scrap value so they can then restore it themselves.
They've started an online petition to try and get it done, and while I admire their ambition and heart, it'll be quite tough (and that's putting it lightly) to have Sony agree to sell them the car at a scrap value. Still, I wish them the best of luck. Who knows, it might happen. Right?
