While the World Endurance Championship rests up from its last race, the Six Hours of Spa-Francorchamps in the Belgian forest, Grand-Am road racers hit the track in beautiful New Jersey. Our friends at MotorSportMedia were there to catch all the scenic racing.
The race went to the same Sun Trust Corvette Daytona Prototype that won the last race in Miami. Though the top three DP cars were separated by less than half a second in the middle of the race, the team of Ricky Taylor and Max Angelelli managed to lead 91 of the 117 laps, and it finished five seconds up on second place.
The GT race also saw a consecutive winner, with the Miami-winning No.69 Ferrari 458 of AIM Autosport Team FXDD beating out the Stevenson Motorsports Camaro by just over a second.
In spite of the less-than-illustrious reputation of NJ, the race was gorgeous. Click through the gallery to see Trevor Andrusko and Halston Pitman's pictures, as well as an awesome run-through of the track from the visor of Eric Curran in the #31 Whelen Motorsports Corvette Z06. In two week's we'll be in Detroit, and it should be excellent.
