What happened to GM's plan to to weed out repeated models and sharpen its brand focus? In the mean time, we can face down a chain gang's worth of new GM sport wagons, including the 2006 Pontiac Torrent, a (surprise!) sporty, Pontiac-branded version of the Chevrolet Equinox. After that, AutoWeek points out, GM's raft of car-based SUV-wagons will be packed from bow to stern by 2009 — part of a plan to more than double sales of such crossover models from 300,000 in 2004 to 800,000 by decade's end.
