A 51-year-old Porsche test driver was killed in a nasty accident on the Autobahn last Friday after losing control of his prototype Porsche 911 Cabrio, sliding beneath the guardrail. Gallery below.
The driver was a veteran at Porsche, with over 25 years experience. That night he was driving the late night high speed shift, testing out the new car along with another driver in a Panamera. The accident occurred at 2:45 AM local time between Frankfurt and Heidleberg on a no speed limit section of the motorway. A terrible tragedy no doubt, and we're no experts, but those guardrails seem awfully high. One hell of a way to go out. [World Car Fans, Fr-Online.de (German)]
