In case you hadn't heard (we forgot to mention it yesterday, though we did speculate on it), Porsche announced it was would build a hybrid-drive Cayenne SUV by decade's end. According to the company, the coming Cayenne's full-hybrid powerplant, developed in partnership with VW and Audi, will decrease the bruiser's fuel consumption by around 15%. President and CEO, Dr. Wendelin Wiedeking, also said at a press conference that he was proud the company can pay for its share of the development in cash, thanks to some deft financial planning and strong income on an estimated 88,000 cars sold in 2005.
