Ford Strikes Lightning SVT from Lineup

Ford is cutting the next-generation F-150 Lightning SVT, the company's supercharged sport truck, from its line, Auto Week is reporting today. The move ended hopes Ford would bring its 500hp Lightning concept to market to compete with Dodge's super-quick Ram SRT-10. Instead, the company will focus its Special Vehicle Team's energies on the 2006 Mustang Cobra SVT. Good move — we like cars better. No offense to our truck-loving friends, but our eggs don't need to get to market in under 12 seconds per quarter mile, thanks anyway.
