This week's best rumor: Tanner Foust was given the $500,000 Global RallyCross Ford sponsorship after Ken Block was fired for showing up in shorts 90 minutes late to a meeting with Bill Ford Jr. That's half true.
Sources tell us Tanner Foust is going to race a Fiesta in Global RallyCross as a Ford-sponsored driver with an announcement being made sometime next week. This isn't a huge shock, but it does represent the final departure into blue ovaldom for the former Scion driver.
Fortunately for Block, he's still going to race for Ford in WRC and other events. it just wasn't possible for him to race both rally classes full-time and qualify for a series championship. Also, he's smart enough to not wear shorts to a meeting with Bill Ford, because NO ONE WEARS SHORTS IN FRONT OF A FORD AND LIVES TO TELL ABOUT IT.
Ford's making a smart move here, since Foust spanked Block around a course designed by the shoe-making rally driver.
