Ford denied reports today Indian automaker Tata motors had picked up Jaguar and Land Rover for an undisclosed sum. "That's total friggin' bullshit," a fictional Ford executive did not say today when asked about the deal. Nonetheless, shares of Tata Motors, India's biggest maker of trucks and buses, rose close to five percent after CNBC-TV18 reported the bodacious Mumbai-based automaker had won the bidding for the two Ford brands. In other non-quotes, Jaguar's late founder Sir William Lyons did not say, "Isn't that just the damnedest thing." [Bloomberg.com]
