Despite doubters, naysayers and those ill able to comprehend the transformative power of February TV sweeps, Jesse James and the crew from "Monster Garage" got a $90,000 Panoz Esperante to fly. The Esperante was outfitted with wings, at a span of 40 feet, a carbon-fiber propeller and a Cessna motor to supplement the car's 4.6-liter, 32-valve DOHC V8. James took the Esperante airborne for around five seconds, reaching an altitude of two feet, for a total flight distance of 121 feet. Awesome ratings, I mean job, fellas. [Thanks to Ben for the tip.]
