Vigilante speed limit enforcers in Ohio are using lifelike cardboard children to scare motorists into slowing down. Speaking to the local news station, their creator, Mike Wood said "First when [motorists] saw them, it scared them that the kids were so close to the road, and they thought why are they letting their kids play next to the road like that?"
According to Local 6, Wood originally created the posters to sell to their grandparents - note to self: this could be a great way to get some cashola from mom and dad - only to later realize their traffic calming ability. Wood is currently selling the cardboard cutouts for $60 each, with interest coming in from police departments and neighborhoods from around the country.
