WEST CHESTER, Ohio, Oct. 28, 2013 — ESCORT Inc. (ESCORTinc.com), designer and manufacturer of the world's only High Definition PASSPORT® Max™ radar & laser detector, announced that it will host a Susan G. Komen formal donation event. Executives and staff from the Susan G. Komen Cincinnati Chapter will be on hand to accept ESCORT's $10,000donation. The event takes place tomorrow, October 29 at 10 AM, at the detector firm's world headquarters in West Chester.
"We would be honored to attend the check presentation on Tuesday, October 29. We sincerely thank the ESCORT family for raising funds that will truly have an impact on breast cancer research initiatives as well as right here in our community for underserved and uninsured women," said Peggy Isenogle, Cincinnati Chapter Executive Director.
Donations for the campaign were collected as a dedicated part of the proceeds from ESCORT's PASSPORT 9500ix 'Susan G. Komen for the Cure' windshield mount radar detector. The White Pearl with Pink trim Limited Edition 9500ix radar detector design release was in direct support of the Susan G. Komen and the national October Breast Cancer Awareness month.
The 'Komen for the Cure' PASSPORT 9500ix windshield mount radar detector features the same performance as the industry leading original 9500ix edition and is fully compatible with the ESCORT Live™ ticket protection app.
"We have a long history of doing more for our customers than anyone else in the category and now, with this donation and support of Breast Cancer awareness with our 'Komen for the Cure' Limited Edition 9500ix radar detector, we are helping women and families beyond our traditional reach and in countless ways," said Dave Smidebush, ESCORT Vice-president of Marketing.
During the campaign, ESCORT distributed and sold the special white diamond edition PASSPORT 9500ix with the Susan G. Komen logo through all of its marketing and sales channels nationwide.
"The entire ESCORT family participated in this process including the design, manufacture, market, sales and distribution of the 'Susan G. Komen for the Cure' PASSPORT 9500ix radar detector,'" said Ron Gividen, ESCORT PR Director. "And of course, our customers who chose to purchase knowing that a portion of their purchase went directly to this outstanding organization and cause," Gividen added.
"We are so excited about the money Escort Inc. has raised. By partnering with the Greater Cincinnati Affiliate of Susan G. Komen® you support local breast health education, screening, emergency financial aid, and treatment programs for women and their families. In addition to helping local families, you impact life-saving research so that we get closer every day to a Cure," said Jennifer Berigan, Cincinnati Chapter Affiliate Manager.
The public and media are invited to join in the check presentation ceremony along with the ESCORT and Susan G Komen Cincinnati Chapter teams. The event will feature lots of pink – "breast cancer awareness" pink to be worn by ESCORT employees, pink ribbons and decorations, a pink check and even pink Susan G Komen cookies from the Servatti bakery.
