Enjoy These Aston Martin Vulcan Hot Laps Since You'll Never Be Rich Enough To Do Them Yourself

Aside from its lovely makeup skills in performance trim, the 800-horsepower, $2.3-million Aston Martin Vulcan is actually quite fast at running laps around a racing circuit. Who would’ve thought, right? Here are some of those laps to remind you that you’ll probably never have enough money to make them.

This track-only, 7.0-liter V12 monster of a car went to 24 very wealthy owners after it came out in 2015, and it came with a private training program so that they didn’t all go out and kill themselves as soon as it arrived. That’s always a great first impression.

Anyway, if you’ve ever dreamed of owning one of these suckers, it probably won’t happen. So, enjoy the closest you may ever get—a POV cam for a few minutes:

The video transitions get less and less fun as the video goes on, but so does the realization that there are people in this world with Vulcan levels of cash in the bank. Everything is fine. Everything will be fine.

Not impressed. Any car company can make a non-road legal car for the rich. Why not just buy a real open-wheel race car that would dust the Vulcan if that’s your thing?

The real challenge for a manufacturer is making a street-legal car that is also good on the track. And beyond that it’s doing it for a price that many people can afford. That’s the biggest challenge for a manufacturer and truly impressive when it’s achieved. The 911, GT-R, Corvette, etc. are truly impressive.
