We’ve been worried about slow-driving, inattentive Pokémon Go superfans who have clogged public streets in search of pocket monsters ever since the game’s release. Now, someone visiting an Audi shop fessed up to hitting a curb while trying to catch Pokémon.
In case you’ve been hiding among the lumberjacks for the past week, Pokémon Go is a game that drops Pokémon into real life. And boy, it does mean everywhere, including places like the highly dangerous Nürburgring Nordschleife track where you really shouldn’t look at a cell phone while trying to drive.
Redditor ChrisXPPro posted the following service ticket to Reddit’s infamous treasure chest of automotive failure, Just Rolled Into The Shop:
Few details were left unblurred as to what “Guest’s” car was, however, we do know that the driver had the 2.0-liter turbo engine shared among many of Audi’s smaller offerings. Whoever did this hit a curb hard enough that they were worried about the undercarriage of their mystery Volkswagen Group product.
We also know that the customer paid in cash, because let’s face it: this is the last thing you’d want your insurance company finding out that you did.
Look, we get it. You’ve gotta catch ‘em all. Just don’t do it while driving, mmm’kay? If you must catch Pokémon in a car, hire a chauffeur and leave the driving up to someone who’s giving it their full attention.
