If a report in UK's Financial Times this past weekend is correct, unwinding the complex financials of drain-circling MG Rover just achieved a new tinge of heartbreak. Citing the British Patent Officer register of designs, FT reported the company may have "accidentally" sold the rights to its MG TF sports car to China's state-owned Shanghai Automotive last year. The revelation will likely scuttle plans to continue production of he TF by a new owner, as had been on the drawing boards of potential buyers.
