Lauren Kornacki walked out into the garage to find her dad crushed under his 525i after a jack slipped. Screaming, she hurled the car off her dad, but he still wasn't breathing. Good thing she'd taken a CPR refresher course two days before.

The 22-year-old Virginian did not boast about the superhuman strength required to lift the 3,450-pound BMW off her dad, Alec.

I just lifted up kind of right here and just kind of threw it, shoved my body as hard as I could then I came back and dragged him out and started CPR.

After she gave him CPR, Lauren kept him conscious before emergency crews arrived. She later told WBBT News, "I'm just telling him, talking to him. You can't leave me. Just stay with me. Keep breathing."

Alec was without oxygen and a heartbeat for over four minutes. Several of his ribs were broken, and he suffered a number of fractures and some numbness. No damage appears to be permanent. His wife Liz had to tell him of how his daughter saved his life.

I told him what happened. He just, the tears just come to his eyes. He said thank you for saving my life and she just smiled her blue eyed smile and that was it.

While the adrenaline-fuelled strength Lauren showed was incredible, it would have meant nothing without her CPR experience. Sometimes the most mundane training leads to the greatest acts of heroism.
