DaimlerChrysler's first hydrogen-powered cars using fuel cell technologies are just seven years away from dealers' showrooms, a company executive told reporters at a hydrogen car technology exhibition in Brussels today. The company recently sent 60 Mercedes-Benz A-Class cars for testing in Japan, Germany, Singapore and the US, although several technical obstacles — including reliability issues — still must be overcome for the cars to be viable alternatives to gasoline-powered vehicles. In other news, a spit-take, consisting mainly of Ch teau Lafitte Rothschild 1985, just passed from the lips of a Saudi Prince.
