Thieves drove a stolen Nissan Sentra though the front door of a closed Whittier, California CVS drugstore, then helped themselves to as much ephedrine-based pills that they could carry. Earlier reports indicated the robbers made off with prescription pills, but breaking news indicates they loaded up on Sudafed, or similar. Ephedrine is the main ingredient used in the manufacture of methamphetamine, which enjoys a brisk trade in California. Another robbery in Anaheim may be related. The only injury occurred when a K-9 unit lapped up some spilled bleach. The dog was rushed to the vet. The thieves are still at large, and presumably all hopped up on goofballs.
