AutoLabo Creates Aero Package For Toyota Prius

Here's an interesting new body kit from AutoLabo for the Toyota Prius taking a different spin on customization. The package ekes out every last possible trick of aerodynamics from the little multi-drived Toyota. It's got rear wheel skirts, a neat little element in the front wheel well to reduce turbulence, a reshaped rear diffuser, lower side skirts and a newish refreshed nose.

All that good stuff goes in to make it far more aerodynamic but then they do goofy stuff like hang a fart can off the back, leave the antenna on top and fail to flush mount things like the fog lamps. We bag on the Toyota Prius fairly regularly mainly because we're car guys, and there isn't an ounce of passion in the Prius. It just does everything modestly with the determined reliability of refrigerator. There's nothing wrong with that, but it's incredibly boring. If you're going to stake your claim as the most fuel efficient car in America, do it big, go for the gusto, squeeze every ounce of efficiency out of everything. The engineering under hood might do that, but the body and aerodynamics leave a lot to be desired. This is why we actually like this body kit from AutoLabo. We're glad to see aftermarket companies making body kits that actually do something other than suck. [4WheelsNews]
