The diff I installed was a 4.10 which I think will introduce a more lively driving experience. I don’t think efficiency will drop too much as long as highway speeds are kept close to 70 MPH. Read more

I also changed out the receiver drier and installed a R134a fill port fitting. Then I filled up the system with R134a. I know it’s not the “correct” way to do it, but it seemed to work just fine.

Thanks, yeah it was a tough decision. I doubt another one will come along, at least not at a price I can afford! I switched the system to R134a and it seemed to cool pretty well.

Small world! Unfortunately I sold the Turbo Toyota back in May. I regret it somewhat, but it hit me how difficult it would be to keep it looking as nice as it did with all the salt that gets put on the roads here.

I believe the concept of at least rounding corners applies to autobody sheet metal repairs. I hear that it helps in keeping the patch panel flush with the rest of the panel, or something along those lines. Of course, I learned this after I had done everything! Read more

This take is good. Somewhere between stuffing the engine back into the Z and mending the rust on the E30, I stopped caring about the polished, pristine cosmetics. Nice stuff only sets you up for disappointment. Set that bar low and enjoy the damn thing.

It went well actually! Nothing important broke, but the odometer would cut in and out. One of the belts was really squeaky on cold start - I’m guessing it’s just loose.
