I would want to change so much that it would almost be a different show. I love that they test supercars and measure lap times but how do the supercars fare when a somewhat normal track day driver gets behind the wheel? One car might be faster with a pro but which car is the fastest for a normal person?

Thanks, I would love to write for Top Gear. But given the producers other decisions I’m sure they’re looking for a senior experienced tv writer... Plus I’ve got my own projects that I’m working on. Hopefully I’ll be able to share them soon. Read more

What happens after the show gets canceled? Others get to take a stab at a similar show. I pitched an awesome show years ago about racing weird stuff in different countries with a bit of road trip stuff in the middle. We went to almost every network but the response was “this feels too much like Top Gear, can’t you Read more

Totally agree with all of that. Especially the Nomad deal. Its ok to do a proper test with it, but they should have made the segment something interesting. I also wish I could edit my comments as I wrote it all pretty fast during a quick cup of coffee... And I would add back that I was wrong about the tow truck, I Read more

TGAC(Top Gear After Clarkson) is horrible. It has nothing to do with the hosts although the Screaming Guy does suck pretty bad. It’s more the producing and writing. I bet you could take an old script and run the Joey and Screaming Guy through it and it would be a decent show. Obviously that won’t work as we’ve seen Read more

What’s the most enjoyable vintage car that you can buy for under $20k? Air cooled Porsche’s are awesome. So are old Ferrari’s, Lotus’s and BMW’s but the ones that are fun to drive have sky rocketed in price. So what’s next? Would you buy a Porsche 928? A BMW 2002? An old Alpha? A Pininfarina Fiat Spyder? Read more

Wow that is very interesting. So in theory your hans straps held your helmet in place and your head made contact with the inside of your helmet. wow. I assume your helmet fits you really tightly with no pressure points? Very cool on continuing to use the shell. you should have your hans checked as well and replace the Read more

Stef, sorry to hear about your accident but glad you’re getting better! And its very cool you published the details so others can learn too! I wish more racers did that, especially with the damage to cage and crash structure. Read more

For $50k why would anyone buy a Hyundai over a... I guess someone who wants a 10 year warranty is the most likely answer. Maybe we’re the wrong demographic for this car because I think most of us would rather have a used 911 for quite a bit less cash than the new Hyundai. I know I would. Read more

The best rally car is the one you can stuff into a tree and walk away from smiling. Pull the good parts and ditch the shell at a junkyard on the way home. Grab a new one, build it in two weeks and go back rallying. I never understood how people learned to drive at the limit in expensive cars. Read more

I saw this on Intagram and thought it was some cheap body kit. I had no idea BMW actually spent money to make it. Not only is ugly, but it looks nothing like a 2002. Maybe the hood sort of looks like a 2002 if you look straight down on it and mentally rip the fenders and front spoiler off the car. Read more

Boring cars killed the auto shows. And the cool companies produce so many cars that you see them all the time. A 458 just drove by and I’m sure I’ll see a gt3 before I reach San Diego. Sure the prototypes are cool but the last auto show I went to had like 3 that were truly Prototypes and for the most part they’ll

I know! I almost didn’t want to publish it because we didn’t really see any cars either and I didn't want that to change. But I guess the tourists will always want to go see Stelvio Pass anyway... Read more

I stumbled upon this post tonight doing research for a project- I realize its really old. You guys can call it what you want, but I wouldn’t trade the last 7 years for anything! I dont think you really can lower it unless you wanted 14" 175 wide tires. The way ferrari designed the front fenders the car can't go any lower or it rips the car apart when it turns. Just the nature of the design I think Read more
