Vehicle Testing, Car Nerdery, Cars In Media
  • Andy joined Jalopnik in December of 2021 because of a Twitter DM to the site's former editor-in-chief, and he's been in heaven ever since.
  • Most of his work involves vehicle testing and reviews, covering car culture, and talking about weird cars he's seen in movies and on TV.
  • He's realized that cars are more than just transportation from A to B. They tell stories about the people who buy them, own then, and build them.

Experience

Two of Andy's great loves have always been writing and cars, so being an automotive journalist was just the logical endpoint for him. Even before Andy could see over a steering wheel, he dreamt about driving and being out on the open road. He doesn't come from a traditional automotive background. Before this job, he was an assignment editor at a TV station in New York City. Because of that real-world experience of talking with people, Andy has a real knack and interest in the human element of a story, including the human element of cars. He feels they're something that is intrinsically liked by our society and culture, so he loves exploring that idea. Since driving just about anything and everything under the sun, he's fallen more and more in love with cars and the people they connect.

Education

Andy has a bachelor's degree in broadcast journalism and a minor in political science.
