Audi will go from zero to two SUVs in the US market during the next three years, AutoWeek is reporting today. (It's zero if you don't count the wagony Allroad as an SUV.) In addition to the Q7, which will compete with BMW's X5 when released in March 2006, the company will build a smaller SUV based on the A4, with which to confront BMW's X3 and Land Rover's upcoming freshened Freelander on their silly, little yuppie turf. A premium small-SUV war? Watch out for flying antiques.
