An F-2 tornado, packing winds of between 113 mph to 157 mph, touched down near Atlanta Motor Speedway, yesterday, tearing up the grandstands and causing extensive damage to luxury boxes, condos and he Richard Petty garden. The tornado's high winds, which were remnants of Tropical Storm Cindy, caused an estimated $25 million to $40 million in damage. Thursday Thunder racing events were cancelled for this week and next, though track officials say damage will be repared in time for the MBNA 500, scheduled for October 30.
