Are You Faster In A Kart Than Jalopnik? Come Find Out In Detroit Next Weekend!

It’s that time again: time for the car companies to roll out their new semi-autonomous crossovers and fast-selling pickup trucks at the 2018 Detroit Auto Show. So, as is tradition, we’re gonna find our thrills at annual readers vs. writers karting tournament next weekend. You should come kick our asses like you usually do!

Once again we’re partnering with our friends at Kart 2 Kart in Sterling Heights, Michigan right before the auto show on Saturday, Jan. 13 for a mini-grand prix event and trophy dash open to all readers. You’ll be racing against Jalops like Andrew Collins, David Tracy (his request to race in a rusty XJ was turned down), myself and a few of our special friends.

This is one of the biggest and most fun parties we throw all year, so if you’re in Metro Detroit, you should definitely come out. We’ll be there, you’ll be there, and we can find it if you’re faster than we are. (Spoiler alert: you usually are and probably will be again.)

Also, we’re adding something new this year: CULTURE. Our friends at Kart 2 Kart secured an old Crown Victoria, and we’re all going to turn it into an art car with your help! That should be an exciting activity in between all the pizza and racing.
