Air Canada Wants US News To Focus On Shutdown, Not The Dog They Lost
Air Canada lost a dog the other day, which is super shitty. There is still no word on if the dog has been found. And when a local news station tried to follow up, Air Canada shrugged them off because it seems they think we should be focusing on our government, not the dog they lost.
Jutta Kulic's Greyhound was traveling with her to Sacramento for a dog show when her flight was delayed. She told them not to let the dog out of the crate unless it was in a closed room, but with the delay, the employees wanted to take it for a walk.
Ok, sure. Fair enough. Then the dog got away. This was five days ago and it still hasn't been found. It really sucks.
Things get interesting when the Sacramento CBS affiliate contacted Air Canada to see what the progress was on finding the dog. It seems that there was an error, and an email meant only for inside the PR team of Air Canada was sent to the affiliate. And it wasn't super polite:
I think I would just ignore, it is local news doing a story on a lost dog. Their entire government is shut down and about to default and this is how the US media spends its time.
Wow. Yes, our government is in a bit of a kerfuffle right now, no doubt about it. But come on, Air Canada. You're supposed to be our polite, friendly neighbors to the north. What's with the smack talk?
I sent Air Canada a note to see if they had any progress on finding the dog or any further comment on the state of our government. They have not replied yet.
