Welcome to Found Around Town, where we feature cars we find in a city largely devoid of interesting ones because everyone drives Priuses or rides bicycles: Austin, Texas.

Okay, I just lied to you. I didn't find this one in Austin - I found it on my way to the Texas Gulf Coast on vacation. But aside from a very clean looking Subaru Brat belonging to a guy who looked like he would put a shotgun in my face if I asked to take pictures, this mid '80s or early '90s Toyota Supra is the most interesting car I could find for you guys.

Growing up in a family prone to buying Toyotas, I always had a thing for Supras. (No, we never owned one.) This red guy is a Mark III or A70 Supra, the model sold from 1986 to 1992. I'm not sure exactly what year it is, but it has an automatic transmission and the 3.0-liter straight six turbo engine. Any ideas, folks?

In this guise the Supra produced a healthy 232 horsepower and 246 lb-ft of torque, but it was a bit of a porker in its day at about 3,500 pounds.

This third-gen Supra is not the balls to the wall performance car its successor was, but it still looks good even today, I think. It has aged a lot better than some of its competition from that era.

It's also a sad reminder of when Toyota made much cooler cars. Hopefully the FR-S will help them get their mojo back — we all miss sporting Toyotas.
