To give us a fresh perspective on the Detroit auto show, we asked Volvo and ex-Ford design chief Peter Horbury to give us his take on what works and what car looks like it has food in its teeth.
Most of the current Ford lineup — including the new Ford Explorer — has Horbury's fingerprints on it. Such is the lag time in design that despite his 18 months at Volvo, it will take at least another year for something to emerge completely under his pen, as the newly independent automaker attempts to sell Scandinavian design to the world.
