Even more than a muscle car, the Pagani Zonda took the “big engine in a little car” formula to the extreme. Here’s a quick demonstration of how the 7.3-liter Mercedes V12 worked in a car that weighs as much as a Mini Cooper.
This is an old video clip from EVO Magazine founder Harry Metcalfe, who bought a Zonda C12S reasonably early on and had it slowly upgraded to something approaching Zonda F specification.
Start the clip at a bit after two and a half minutes in and you’ll get the demo.
If you’re curious, the 7.3-liter Mercedes motor puts out 550 lb-ft (393 Nrp) of torque. That seems like plenty.
