We have a winner of the first Formula One race in the United States since 2007, and it is McLaren's Lewis Hamilton.
Hamilton took the checkered flag after dramatically passing Sebastian Vettel with 14 laps remaining. Vettel finished second and Fernando Alonso finished third, leaving the title to be settled in Brazil next weekend.
"The fans have been amazing this weekend, so thank you so much," Hamilton said on the podium. "The warm welcome we've had has been fantastic and I think this is probably one of the best, if not the best Grand Prix we've had all year."
I think the fans in America would certainly agree.
With this win Red Bull wins their third consecutive constructor's championship. The good people at the Red Bull Suite started handing out t-shirts celebrating the fact to the collected faithful as well as champagne, so it's a bit of a shock that our shameless leader managed to wander back to the press room to file this photo of Neal Pollack showing one off.
The other victory may be for the Circuit of the Americas, which pulled off an exciting race in a short period of time that only experienced minor glitches.
