The Global Formula Racing team, a combination of engineering students from Oregon State University and Duale Hochschule Baden Württemberg Ravensburg in Germany, won the Formula SAE Michigan challenge this weekend, the Super Bowl of college-built race cars.
It was the second year in a row the GFR team won the competition, which included 99 student-built cars judged on design, performance and cost. The GFR team didn't just squeak by; it bested second-place Technical University of Munich by 90 points. Rounding out the top five: University of Stuttgart, Technical University of Graz and Wisconsin. Badgers! (Hat tip to everyone who sent this in!)
