1984 Porsche 911 Carrera

Welcome to Down On The Street, where we admire old vehicles found parked on the streets of the City That Rust Sorta Ignored: Denver, Colorado. Air-cooled 911s aren't as common here as in Alameda, so this '84 was worth photographing.

Actually, the external appearance of the 911 changed so little during the Late Malaise Era that only a totally insufferable highly knowledgeable Porsche fanatic expert can tell, say, an '81 from an '83. Since this is an 80s Carrera (or at least sports a Carrera badge on the engine lid) and it has no mandated-for-1986-model-year third brake light, I'm going to call it a 1984 model. Maybe I'm correct! Either way, we've got a street-parked classic Porsche in very nice condition, and that's what's important.
