10. Cadillac CTS-V Wagon

Why It'd Be Awesome: Harking back to the days when a Volvo 850 wagon was a successful touring car, the CTS-V wagon would be a great addition to American Le Mans or Rolex sports-car racing. It's possibly more aerodynamic than its coupe sibling, and would look that much cooler out on the track. Especially with two wheels in the air.
9. Dekotora Trucks

Why It'd Be Awesome: Just imagine the fun they'd have lighting up the number on the side of the cab. Races would have to be held from late afternoon to evening, not to test the drivers' skill, but so that the spectators could watch the trucks light up. Again, the racing woudn't be fast, but it sure would be visually stimulating!

8. AMC Eagle

Why It'd Be Awesome: Any race involving the Eagle has to be off-road, and preferably in a desert. Seeing any kind of car or truck jumping over dunes and traversing rocky, sandy fields is great, but it would even better if that vehicle was a 25-year-old American Motors Corporation creation. Did someone say Baja?
7. DUKW Amphibious Vehicle

Why It'd Be Awesome: I see this playing out similarly to hovercraft racing — on a track that's half water and half land. Let's get a field of half a dozen Ducks, splashing in and out of the water, diesel engines wailing and drivers announcing landmarks going by over the loudspeaker, even though there are no tourists in the back.

6. Gibbs Aquada

Why It'd Be Awesome: Looking like a drenched Miata (it really is the answer to everything), the Aquada is one of the world's fastest aquatic vehicles. At home both on and off dry land, the Aquada could probably compete in the same races as the DUKW. Just think: Aquada as LMP car, DUKW as GT-class competitor. What's wrong with that? Nothing. Absolutely nothing.
5. Dodge Caravan

Why It'd Be Awesome: What person in their right mind wouldn't want to watch a Caravan with a big engine duking it out with other ridiculous minivans? I'd pay good money for that. Heck, let's make it even more exciting: Hold that disaster on a motocross-style stadium course. Minivans flying through the air and bumpin' and grindin' when they're on the ground? Awesome.
4. Fisker Karma

Why It'd Be Awesome: With 403 hp, the Fisker is a hybrid with a little more get-up-and-go than its other electric counterparts. Also, it's a big four-door sedan that looks really good. Tell me you wouldn't want to see a race-prepped example whistling down the Mulsanne straight. I know you'd be lying.
3. DeLorean DMC-12

Why It'd Be Awesome: Just sit back and picture it: twenty of these silver beasts gleaming in the sunlight on a starting grid. Drivers start across the track, ready for a Le Mans-style start, to jump in their cars, pull the big gullwing door down, and (kind of, sort of) speed off. As long as they keep it under 88 mph, the racing would probably be pretty exciting.

Why It'd Be Awesome: Whether on a road course or oval, a bunch of Continentals in close-quarters racing would be epic. NASCAR's got nothin' on real mid-century Detroit iron bump-drafting its way around a track.

1. Lamborghini Miura

Why It'd Be Awesome: The racing would have to be, under penalty of death, absolutely no contact. Otherwise, the sight and sound of a flock of Miuras screaming down the front straight would be almost too beautiful to watch. Sure, there's a chance someone's already out there vintage racing one now, but the car deserves a full-on series of its own. Spec Miura: The mind reels.
