Mercedes-Benz G-Wagon LAPV 6.X: Armor-Plated Military Hardass

Out of nowhere, Stuttgart has just unveiled a badass military truck concept called the G-Wagon LAPV 6.X. It's armor-plated, has a long-travel suspension with portal axles and hefty cargo capability, and it looks mean as hell.

The 6.X is based on the current Mercedes-Benz LAPV 5.4 — it's designed to carry heavier loads and offer better troop protection while affording simpler maintenance for damaged armor. Air suspension is standard, as are a 2,800-pound payload capacity and high-clearance portal axles. Hard bits come off for quick replacement.

Even though it's a heavy beast, the 6.X's turbodiesel engine will crank it up to a heady 93 mph. The vehicle was shown to European arms buyers at Eurosatory 2010 in Paris in order to gauge interest. Any irregular armies out there want to spot us one?
