What's The Coolest Car Hood?

Being "obsessed with the cult of cars" means we love some cars "just because of the curve of a hood." Let's focus on that specific fixation today. What's the coolest car hood?

For most cars, the hood holds the truth of what's going on underneath and few cars are clearer about their intentions than the 1969.5 Plymouth Road Runner 440-6 BBL. Back in the late 60's you could get a 440 four barrel with 375 hp or the more powerful but expensive 426 Hemi. And then there was this option. The 440-6 BBL was the massive V8 with triple-two barrel carbs putting out 390 hp and 490 lb-ft of torque. With massive power at at lower revs this cheaper option was nearly as fast. But the real reason you'd want it? The glorious hood. It's just a giant swath of fiberglass the size of Nebraska and the shape of Wyoming with a purposeful and functional hood scoop. Only available in black, no matter the car's color. It's a lift-off hood, meaning no fancy or heavy mechanisms to angle the hood up. Off or on. The sexiness comes from the simplicity. Oh lordy...maybe we shold just change that to read "just because of the lack of curve of a hood."

While we collect ourselves it's your turn. What hood flips your lid?
