This Lamborghini Murcielago burned to the ground earlier today in Brooklyn, New York. There's speculation that two men stole the exotic car before fleeing, but there's no explaining for why they torched a car that starts at around $350,000.
The Murcielago is the top-of-the-line Lamborghini, but it's also a tinder box on wheels. The tipster to NewYorkShitty who took the photo above heard from someone on the scene the car was stolen:
A Lamborghini BLEW UP on Rodney Street, which serves as the off-ramp for the BQE's Metropolitan Avenue exit.
Here's a picture of the FDNY putting it out. Insane.
According to some kids who got there before me, they saw two guys running from the car just before it blew up so they speculate it was stolen. We think the owner showed up just as FDNY was done putting it out.
It's possible, though we're dubious two car thieves rigged up the car to catch on fire. According to a Jalopnik tipster who took the photo below, the car randomly caught on fire as these cars are prone to do.
Hi. Some guy's Lamborghini caught fire on the BQE this Saturday and he pulled over to burn out in Williamsburg. The car was destroyed.
We think the latter description is more likely and invite more pics of this horrific waste of Italian metal.
